Tutorial: Kitty Pillow

Description

I made a tutorial of a plush pillow that I just made for my Aunt Laurie, who, if you've followed me on Facebook or Twitter know that I've been rather anxious about her. They found out she had a brain tumor on Monday, and operated on her Tuesday - she's doing okay, but still having speech and motor problems, and, well, since it's such a huge surgery, I'm still rather nervous.

So, to cheer her up, I made her this cute kitty pillow. Laurie loves bright and cheery things, and most especially kitties!

A few months ago I made her this apron, if that gives you an idea of her personality:

I thought I'd do something fun for her this time, too, and have it be rather sentimental as well - on the back, there are the names of all of our kitties (well, hers, mine, and my Grandparents') hand embroidered.

And, I discovered I really dislike doing hand embroidery. My fingers hurt. But it's all for a good cause!

I'll take some better pictures of it tomorrow in the daylight and submit it separately as a deviation, but for now, I hope this pseudo-tutorial is helpful for you!

:bulletblue: I do not go over each and every stitch I used to do this, either hand sewing, embroidery, or machine stitching. You're on your own, there, but dun worry, this is definitely on the "easy" end of things!

:bulletblue: I do not provide a pattern - I show you what mine looked like, but you're going to have to do it on your own unless you beg and kiss up real-nice-like, and then maybe I'll put a couple up for different critters. Until then, you're on your own.

:bulletblue: Yes, I know that this is a way n00b style plush. This is the second one I've ever made (this one being my first) so cut me some slack, k?

As per the usual, please do not edit, post, or modify this tutorial and claim it as your own. I make these cuz I like sharing what I do and how I do it, not to make you look good by stealing them and trying to convince the world you're awesome.

If you make anything with this tutorial, please please please send me a link! I love to see stuff people make with my tutorials!

:bulletblue: And, by the way, did you know that these other tutorials I've made may come in rather handy with this one, too, if you're looking for ideas on how to decorate your kitty?

:star: And thank you to my awesome husband ~kellin for taking most of the pictures for this, and generally helping me out and keeping me company while making this!
