It was, to quote ~kellin:

"Best. Wedding. Ever."

So WeddingCon 1 went pretty darned well, if I do say so myself. Even though we forgot to put up the banner. Ah well, still, it was entertaining, and everyone who attended said it was the most fun wedding they've ever gone to. I count that as a bonus, myself ;P

My personal favorite picture from the whole of them

Chris's family... well, they were complete bummers. And left ASAP. And didn't like the picture place. Or the "ceremony". Or the person performing the ceremony. Or much of anything.

But, screw them. I think Chris would agree, and if not... :O

My mother got sick the day before, so she didn't stick around much, but fortunately, we do have some excellent pictures with her at the hotel, so that is always good :D She's still not feeling better, either :(

Anyways, what wound up happening was dress got done just in time. And Chris's stuff, too - it was a lot easier than I expected, thank goodness. And everything came together wonderfully!

The details

We stayed at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, which was just recently completely renovated and restored. It's a Victorian hotel, built in 1893, so it fit really well with our outfits (because we're goons like that). And we go a huge suite (the one they were showing a few days before, about their new renovations!) which was fantastic - it fit all of our friends/family and whatnot, and had the damned comfy-est bed ever (hooray feather mattresses!)

Friday was up and going right away, when my friend Dana came over to bludgeon my hair into submission. She couldn't stay for the eve, but it was amazing to see her, and she also made me the most beautiful bouquet - she is so damned talented, I'm envious! (she's the wig assistant at the Florentine Opera here in Milwaukee, and also works at a florist)

We did this crazy up-do, got into corset, and listened to Chris freak out about being late to the photo place, even though we weren't. Ah well ;P If he wasn't, I would have been, I know it.

Then, pictures, where amazingly most of our friends showed up! I was only expecting one or two of them to be able to make it at noon-ish, but almost everyone did! I was so happy!

Pictures, pictures and more pictures - Chris is really photogenic, and makes up for my blandness.

Then, back to the suite to do the "ceremony" and cut the cake. Our friend, Derek, officiated the ceremony, and it was short, sweet, to the point, and funny. Always a good thing, to me, at least!

To the cake, which was ugly as sin, but tasted wonderful - the place we ordered it from definitely screwed up what we wanted, but that was okay by me, because it tasted as wonderful as every Greg's cake has!

Dinner, which was awesome, was at a restaurant right around the corner, Sake Tumi, Asian fusion, and the best damned Godzilla rolls ever. EVER. Addicting. All 12 or 13 or something like that of us crammed into their tatami room, and really had a blast! And good food.

Finally, back to the suite, where (I shit you not) we sat and talked, ate cake, and played Apples to Apples all night, until people needed to get going. It was awesome, and a blast. And I fell asleep as soon as I hit the bed, I was so exhausted!

I'll add pictures of all of this randomness once I get them from some people, or if they upload them to dA or somewhere else that I can link from ^____^

Random things

:pointr: Somewhere along the way, I took off my corset, and lo-and-behold, my dress still fit. Which is a good thing. My boobs weren't in the right place, but everything fit :D

:pointr: Just about every one of our friends came in costume (those who could, who weren't coming from work-type-things) which was just awesome!

:pointr: Maggie (~MissMaggie1860) managed to change out of her huge, crazy dress with the hoop into her black "goth" Civil War dress in the parking garage! We still don't know how exactly she did it, really.

:pointr: All of the really beautiful, amazing pictures were taken by Jen (~eyes-of-green). She is one damned amazing photographer, and I'm in awe of her! I plan on hiring her (or doing work in trade ;P) for some cosplay photoshoots in the future, because... well, I normally hate every picture of myself, but I love the one's she took! Amazing! (And, I think you can also book her for photoshoots if you're in the South Eastern Wisconsin area - you should! :poke:)

:pointr: I want to steal all the stuff Becky (~MedeaHiasobi) was wearing. 50's Japanese kimono getup FTW!

:pointr: The only sad thing is, I don't think anyone got a good shot of the back of my dress :( Ah well - I'll just have to put it on again and snap a few more pictures :D

Pictures in thumbnails

Here are the pictures I have up on dA, but if anyone who was there wants to upload pictures themselves (otherwise, I'm just going on Facebook and stealing them and uploading them here XP) I'll add them in here, but so far, it's just my collection~

Oh, that's pretty darn cool, though, to go to assist photography - at least you don't have to say anything, right?

We did just have a lot of fun with it, and kind of played it fast and loose, to use an odd term to describe it ;P It was just plain fun, and thank you! Any excuse to dress up :giggle:

I'm so happy you had fun like that !^^

It's just dumb I think the way Chris's family acted.... was there a reason ?

Anyway, the important is that you like what you did. You got a bunch of pretty souvenirs ^^

Are you like a crazy person ? - Im quite sure they will say so.

Such a great-looking set of people (and photos)! It looks like you guys had a blast! I would have had a kickass time, that's for sure ;)
:icontaeliac:
It was definitely a ton of fun  And, we had fun, which is more important IMO ;P

They are just either rather stodgy, and not liking it not being "traditional", or they were angsty that they weren't involved in the planning of everything - not like there was much to plan, but, some people will look for any excuse to be personally upset XP

Where you can find Taeliac Studio

Our cosplay commission web site and online gallery. This place has all of the information on how to order costumes from us!

This is our official storefront, where we showcase all of our random pieces, from extra cosplay we have floating around, Steampunk bits, corsets, wings, jewelry, and everything else we come up with~

A side hobby of mine, upcycling of vintage kimono silks into beautiful jewelry pieces, corsetry, and any other odd thing I can imagine.

Nothing, right now...

Where will we be next? You never do know (Unless, of course, you're in Wisconsin... then you can pretty much bet you'll see us around somewhere!)

If you wanna get us to your local convention, feel free to contact your convention head and have them drop us a line, and we'll see what can be done!

We are way beyond qualified to judge cosplay contests, and we're cool with running different panels, too, from skit/acting strategies, how-to's, makeup, introductory or advanced costume construction help, or just plain old "ask us whatever sewing or prop questions you want, and we'll do our best to help" panels!
