So... I was thinking... I need an avatar and a banner for use on Etsy, for my new store. But... I'm just kind of failing at ideas, and art in general, that isn't sewing related.

So, I'm going to hold a contest, to challenge you to make me a banner & avatar for use on Etsy, and possibly in any printed materials I'll send out to customers (like shipping labels and thank you notes).

Please this news article to spread the word, especially if you aren't able to enter



Goal: Create a banner or an avatar for `taeliac to use on her Etsy store
-- Avatar: 75px by 75px

Does not need to say anything, but initials like "TS" or "Taeliac Studio" would be great, too!

-- Banner: 760px wide by 100px high

You can either leave room for me to add in text later, or you can have it say "Taeliac Studio" - anything else is peachy by me, so long as it's relating to fantasy or costuming ~ this isn't going to be for cosplay stuffs, just fantasy costumes, corsets, and misc jewelry items, stuff like that...

Requirements: Any types of art are acceptable, but I would really love hand-drawn/painted works, or photo manipulations of any pictures I've submitted of wings. As a side note, I hate pictures of myself, so... yeah.

-- Please be aware that these are the only photomanips I'm authorizing of these pictures - any others will be reported!

-- If you are using any other stock photography in your manip, it can only be stock authorized for commercial use! I will check sources, and report you if they are not used correctly (because I'm a jerk like that)

Deadline: I would like all entries in by July 25th, but I'll extend the deadline if necessary.



As this contest is for either a banner, or an avatar, there will be winners in both categories. You can enter both, but please do not enter more than two (2) entries per category. I'm sorry the prizes aren't bigger, but I'm a little stuck in bills at the moment~

1st place - Banner

These wings were my original trial pair, so they're a little different from the current way of doing them - they have shiny black caulking around the edges, not the flat paints that I currently use, but otherwise, they're identical.

These can be any type of hats I've made before, kanji kitty, or the character one's, or something like that.
Or, if you would prefer, you can get 1x of the Zombie Kitty hats -> [link] or the Biting Kamineko hat -> [link]

These can say anything you'd like, and you can pick the colors, too! Examples are [link] and [link]
I am not sure how many runners up there are going to be in each category, I guess it depends on how many entries there are, so keep checking back!

A bit of begging... Okay, this is going to sound pathetic, and it's not required to be part of this contest, but if you are a winner, and if it's at all feasible, I would really appreciate it if you could donate a couple of dollars to the shipping cost of whatever you've won, especially if you're outside of the US. If not, I compeltely understand, but it would be much appreciated (and, I'll make it up to you with little goodies, too...)
