Waterfalls

We encountered a small waterfall and reflecting pool before reaching any of the main shrines. It was blocked off at this time of year, but I'm interested to see if you can return in the summer and mediate on the platform.

Mid-December, we checked out a car and decided to go to Usa Jingū. It is one of the largest shrines in the area, and one of the most important Shinto shrines dedicated to kami Hachiman in the country. It is a huge complex of many shrines, which we only got to see about a quarter of in our time there. We will be heading back once it gets warmer out (and the colors aren't so drab), and taking many pictures. For now, however, here are some of the pictures from this midwinter shoot.
