<sub>Well, here are the designs that have been eating my life for the last few weeks. I was told by the director that I didn't even have to give her anything more than sketches for the outfits, but I figured it was worth the time to do actual renderings to have for portfolio purposes (and, who am I trying to kid? I'm really loving '20's dresses….

I didn't intend on them being quite this crazy, but I've been really sick with a horrible head-cold, so doing mindless things has been a plus!</sub>

This is kind of a weird in-between: the original script called for just these two characters that all they do is come in and do a dance, and then leave No one sees from them again, that's all they do.

The director decided that it would be better to have some of the regular characters do this, in their carnival outfits, instead of casting two people just for this role. It actually works better, because it makes the dance more interesting (Maisie sings a song earlier in Act I about wanting to dance with all of the boys, because why should she settle for one? The guy playing "Pepe" is the one who wants to marry her, so the director is adding some goofy stage-business about that into it, and saves me having to make another set of costumes!)

Phew! Okay, if that didn't make sense, don't worry one bit about it

She needed a flamenco-esque outfit, without it being too… well, too much. So did he. And, the trick was, the outfits need to be one's that the students can do a lot of, because I'm going to be tight on time to begin with. So, here it is - a simple dress, with his simple (silly) outfit to match.

Ruffles on her dress will be red tulle, with some purple tulle mixed in. If you ever need to make red look redder, especially in a situation like this, add a bit of purple - it'll make your red stand out even more on stage!
