Sentoumyou

The 2012 Beppu Sentoumyou (1,000 candles) festival. The main tree is filled with uplit parasols, and there are lanterns everywhere, made by local school children, as well as larger lit sculptural pieces.

I'm sorry this one isn't clearer, but I'm still learning how to set a camera to capture images crisply at night by candle light. Of course, it doesn't help that the predominant color here was red, something I'm notoriously bad at adjusting before taking the pictures ^^

My images from the Beppu Sentoumyou festival (1,000 candles, I believe) in Beppu Park. At night, the candles were all lit, and the park began to glow like a fairy land with thousands of lanterns made by local school children, as well as a few larger art installations by contemporary artists in the area.
