Description
So, a friend at school said he wanted to be a Spartan from the movie, 300, for Halloween this year, but he didn't know what to do about the cloak.
I came up with this at about 6:30 this morning, before leaving for school, but thought it might be useful. Looked at a ton of reference pictures, and I'm sure there is some fabric shaping involved to get it to lay oh-so-sexily over the shoulders, but I know my friend isn't "sewing inclined". Sorry for the uber-craptacular drawings, too, but I hope they make sense.
The measurement length is just a guide, based off of what I quickly played around with using a bath towel. The width of the fabric (the vertical part) should be whatever width the fabric comes in - either 45" or 60", generally. You may need to hem it for your height or whatnot.
I have no idea if this will actually work, but it's just my idea on paper. It seemed sound, though
Hope it helps someone with a really quick Halloween costume!
