Large Journal: Doctors Name by taeliac Large Journal: Doctors Name by taeliac
Yep, another piece with the Doctor's name on it, as well as the symbol for the planet Gallifrey (from the "New Doctor Who" series)

❝ Doctor – the word for healer, and wise man, throughout the universe. We get that word from you, you know. But if you carry on the way you are, what might that word come to mean? To the people of the Gamma Forests, the word ‘doctor’ means ‘mighty warrior’. ❞
. . . . . - River Song, "A Good Man Goes to War"

The journal fits a larger sized journal than the previous ones - this fits a Moleskien (or similar) of up to 8" high by around 5" wide, and about 1" thick (that's the hardcover Moleskien I have for a sketchbook in one of these cases currently :3) The journal is replaceable, as this is just a case to hold it in, so it can be refilled when you finish up with one notebook.

It is made from 4-5oz leather, and sewn together so it's a bit more durable - I finally figured out how to set my industrial sewing machine to work with the leather thread (thicker, waxed) and sew through something this thick! I swear, that industrial machine was the best investment I've ever made...

If you like them, you can find them (along with a whole ton of other leather bits) on my Etsy shop : TaeliacStudio.Etsy.com

It's beautiful! I wish I had money, and that it was still available, because I think I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat if I could...

I never understood why people always thought that it was his name? I really don't think it is. I think it's River's. The Doctor asked River who she was, and she told him to read the name on the cot. "Can't you read?" Why would having him read his own name tell him who *she* is? It doesn't make sense! It must be her name! Obviously the Doctor, in the TARDIS had Melody's name engraved onto the cot. And when River was telling him who she was, and asked if he could read, she was referring to the name Melody Pond, engraved on the cot. Funny thing is, I've seen a few people having it tattooed onto themselves thinking it's the Doctor's name whilst hating River. Oh the irony.

When she asked him if he could read, she did'nt mean the cot, she ment the embroidered fabric leaf from the soldier lady, the leaf was IN the cot at the time.

So why did the camera focus on the writing on the side? Then Amy read the writing on the cot as well, but River didn't say 'no that's not what I told him'. She said "it doesn't translate because it's Gallifreyan. But this will." Translation: You can't read that to find out, so read this instead. It's not the Doctor's name.

Oh its definitely his name. The last episode of season 7 (not counting the 50th anniversary episode) they say for certain that its his name lol.

Ohhhhhh! Someday I'm going to have money and I will buy one of these from you!

Also, I've been interested in getting into Doctor Who but have no idea where to start. I started at what I THOUGHT was the beginning of the new series, but they were talking about a bunch of stuff that had happened previously and I got very confused...
