Okay. This took way longer than it should have to make. I just wanted a quick set to use for random cross stitch things, and I went all out and arranged them for you guys to use, too.
See, I dug around online and I couldn't find anyone who had made a pattern, except for maybe in a book that I can't buy anyways (no room to store them, and to hell if I'm going to pay a fortune to ship them back with me when we're done here in Japan!). So, I got really annoyed, and said "screw it, I'll make my own katakana patterns. With blackjack. And hookers."
All of these patterns were hand done, because I hate just relying on a font to translate well into scaled images. They're all 10x10 pieces, so they should be small enough to work in most pieces. I'm going to get started on my own piece shortly, which I'll post the pattern of eventually, that uses these, so you can get a good idea of the scale. I could probably make them smaller, but as you can see from the small 'ya', it's hard!
Feel free to use these, but seriously, if you make something to sell utilizing these pieces, I'd really appreciate a bit of a donation as a "thank you for spending the last three hours putting this together in a way I can understand!" I may set it up for "digital premium download" or something, so if you really like it, you can send me a bit. I'm not going to force it, though, which is why you can download it anyways...
I totally think I will with both of them - I love making these patterns (I have a set of the Doctors from Doctor Who I need to get uploaded) and should really do more :gigle:
Very nicely done! I studied Japanese and they are very good. If you need help patterning Hiragana, let me know. It would be harder than Katakana because they are more curvy. XD
Do you know if there are any hiragana cross stitch patterns? Goodness knows I could use those too. @_@
