>Totally metal<

Too much Metalocalypse for Tae...

Anywho, this is one very metal corset... in more meanings of the word than you'd think ;P

This was the fabric that both myself, and my mother, saw at the same time, and said "it reminds me of Guitar Hero!"... so of course, I had to buy it, no question about that!

All the outer materials are 100% cotton. The main inner body of the corset is made out of coutil, and it is also lined in black cotton. Down the front is an industrial zipper, but do to this, you're not going to want to tight lace this corset, it's definitely a fashion piece. It will do waist reduction of about 2"-3" without strain, but more than that could be questionable and risk breaking the zipper.

There are 6 pieces of flat, white steel bones - two along either side of the zipper, and two on either sides of the grommets. The grommets themselves are two part corset grommets, not the type that pull out easily. There are 8 pieces of spiral boning, also, one on each seam. The top and bottom are bound off in black bias. The lacing up the back is corset lacing, which has a bit of stretch to it - this is one of the keys to comfortable fitting corsets, don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

---

Size Details: (these are not including the 2"-4" gap at the back for the lacing, these are the actual corset measurements)
- Bust: 37.5"
- Waist: 29"
- High Hip: 35.5" (this is roughly 3" below your natural waist)
- Length @ Center Front: 13.75"
- Length @ Side: 11.5"
- Length @ Center Back: 13"

This is roughly a size 16

If you would like one custom made to fit you, I have some of both of the fabrics left - the skulls part isn't available any more, but I plan on picking up more of the flames the next time I'm at the store.

This may be for sale in my Etsy store, but I'm thinking of holding it for Geek.Kon to try to sell there before listing it. If you're interested in it, however, feel free to drop me a note about it!

I'm thinking about making a couple of these in various sizes to try to sell at conventions - what do you all think about that?

It's very sweet. I like the zipper idea. I was questioning its durability until I read your explanation. So I love it.

:lmao: You made both me and Chris just laugh like nothing else!

I'm thinking about it, but it might be one to bring with to Geek.Kon, as I'd really like to have at least a few corsets to sell there~ plus, I wanna make it in a couple of other sizes (read: this one didn't fit me, and I want to make one that will!)

Hehe, yeah! Definitely not the best for tight-lacing, that's for sure. I was really, really leery on putting it in, but I wanted to do something, so... yeah ^^; I yanked on it really hard (plus, I tried to tightlace myself into the corset ^^;) and it didn't break, so I'm actually rather impressed by it!

Finally, a use for all that crazy fabric I keep buying! :mwahaha:

Aw! Thankies! I buy it all compulsively, that's why ;P

I shop at a local (smaller) JoAnn Fabrics, by their quilting materials. I think, because it's not a super store, that they get and keep weird fabrics in stock longer... at least, until I see them :mwahaha:
