Branches

For some reason, I thought that these two branches both worked really well together, and needed to be set together. They were both unintentionally shot like this, where they both seemed to have the same 'feeling'.

The one on the left is from our Chinese Pagoda Dogwood, and the one on the right are the red leaves growing from branches, of our Japanese Maple.

I like them together - what do you think? Should I have cropped (these were left untampered from the original photos taken) them to make them more similar? Or, should they not go together? And, finally, was adding the white border a dumb idea?
