Description

Ah ha! I got un-lazy right now, and decided to edit these and get them up while I have a few minutes to spare!

Here are the images (and some other stills) from the quick animation I did of the outfit.

This wa-loli dress (and if anyone wants to pick a fight about not having enough frills, or too short of a skirt, go right ahead, I'll just hide the comment and block you) was made from fabrics I had purchased to do... something... with, something like 3 years ago! I'm kind of happy I waited, because this is definitely not what I think I had originally planned!

The top and over skirt are made from a sheer something-or-other - it feels like it may have a cotton component, but it may be fully poly for all I know (and I'm too lazy to set some of it on fire to see). But, it's rather sheer, and that's what I like about it. It's unexpected :D

The neck band and the bodice are made from a cotton print that looks a lot like cracked leather or something like that (full view for details). The bodice is unlined, mainly because I honestly didn't think that this would turn out even remotely! Boy, I was so wrong, wasn't I? It laces up the back through corset grommets (ya know, whatever you have on hand to work with, you tend to do so) - I'm sorry I didn't get newer pictures, but I purchased a purple lacing that matches the deep purple in the outfit, and it looks *so* much better!

The under skirt is also a pink weird cotton print texture, and is rather full - about 80" at the hem, I think. The over skirt is even fuller, somewhere around 100" or so, but it's swagged up to form a bustle in the front, and a swag in the back.

This was totally unintentional! And I love it! I was just pinning the skirt up to check the hem on the under skirt, and it kind of fell really pretty, and I started playing with it! I'm now going to make a pattern off of this one (mmm... lots of measuring!) to make Steampunk bustle/swag things from, too, or add them to other outfits, just for fun!

All the bustling stuff is hand sewn into place just to be sure ;P

The sleeves aren't the full 3' sleeves, they're more like 2' or so, but they're just right for the length of the skirt. And, the sheer is so pretty - can't you tell I just love it?

I'm utterly ashamed that I thought this would be a failure of an outfit :faint:

This'll probably be for sale in my Etsy store this weekend, I dunno if I'm going to have the time to update it by then. If you're interested, however, note me and I'll try to get back with you (put something in the title about the wa-loli so I recognize it, k?) I think it's roughly a size 6/8. I'm pretty sure the bust on the dressform is set to 32", and the waist 27", but it can easily go up each of those measurements by about 4" or so.

I found a bin of fabric (which is like finding hidden treasure to me!) that we had stored in the garage when building my new sewing room years ago, that has more of this fabric, plus a print that is mostly brown with blue and green bits on it, instead of pink and purple. I think I could make 2 from each of those sets, so if you want one, I know it's fabric I'll probably never find again, because it's from so many years ago!

So... yeah! I hope you like it!
